Y-Knot® RC all-suture anchors are used to reattach soft tissue to bone in surgical procedures. Some common procedures will be:
The Y-Knot® RC anchor utilizes a 32mm-long, 4mm-wide, flat-braided Hi-Fi® suture construct as an anchor body with two or three #2 Hi-Fi® sutures interwoven into the flat braid. The strong stainless steel driver allows the anchor to be inserted directly into the humeral head without creating a pilot hole. The #2 Hi-Fi suture limbs are then pulled back to set the anchor: it compresses vertically and expands laterally, and becomes seated in the bone. Unlike competing all-suture anchors, the Y-Knot RC anchor fixates circumferentially within the pilot hole for a more secure repair, even in soft bone.

The Y-Knot RC anchor is currently the only self-punching all-suture anchor on the market. However, if hard bone is encountered or suspected by the surgeon, a pilot hole should be created. The
Y-Knot RC system includes both punch and drill bit options depending on surgeon preference.
NOTE: If anchor is not advancing after repeated mallet strikes, remove the Y-Knot RC anchor from the portal and create a 2.8mm pilot hole with the broaching punch or drill bit. (Ensure the anchor is not damaged after removing from the portal or cannula.)
There are two 2.8mm broaching punches for the Y-Knot RC that have identical tip designs.
The Y-Knot RC drill bit (Y28D) has a diameter of 2.8mm and a spade tip. It is specifically designed for use with the Y-Knot RC anchor and drill guide. The positive stop allows for 3mm over-drilling when used with the Y-Knot RC drill guide.
Drill Guide & Obturator
The drill guide was specifically designed for the shorter driver and instrumentation of the Y-Knot RC system. This flare-handle design allows for short working length while still able to adequately hold the guide. The distal tip of the guide has a sawtooth design with a small slot to aid in visualization of the distal laser line.
